The Owner hired our firm to design a new Admissions Office for incoming medical students. They asked that it be impressive, light and airy, more contemporary than typical hospital environment. Existing rooms were demolished adjoining the double-wide corridor to create this space. The serpentine frameless glass wall maintained privacy, yet afforded the space an open feeling. The College of Medicine logo was etched in the glass wall providing identity. The custom casework included light maple wood and clear glass countertop for the two workstations that had to be fully separated from each other, but share the same room. The double countertop has clear glass on the top for standing persons and lower countertop to meet ADA requirements. The lighting in the room is up-lighting and under counter lighting. Colors were selected to provide a more inviting and cheerful space.
